I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science at the Queensland University of Technology in 2010 majoring in biochemistry and biotechnology. Following this I decided to undertake an Honours project at the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (QUT). My project involved functional characterisation of transmembrane domain mutations in a receptor tyrosine kinase (FGFR2b). This project reinforced my desire to understand protein structure at a more fundamental level.
Joining the Fairlie group was an easy decision considering the wealth of available experience in combination with the flexibility in designing a project that suited me.
