Joanna Gerszon received her PhD in molecular biology and biophysics at the University of Lodz, Poland. Currently she holds the position of Assistant at the Department of Clinical Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Medical University of Lodz, and she received funding from Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange for holding a post-doctoral internship at IMB. In professor Fairlie’s group she participates in research on immunometabolism, where she attempts to profile how PAR2 activation reprograms metabolism in different epithelial cells and identify the key intracellular signalling pathways responsible for metabolic adaption to particular type of chemical stress.
