Title:
First name: Timothy
Surname: Vanden Berg
E-mail: timothy.vandenberg@uqconnect.edu.au
Background:
I graduated with First Class Honours in Chemistry from the University of Queensland (UQ), for which I was awarded the Wilmar Sugar Prize in Chemistry for achieving the highest standard in the program. Prior to joining the Fairlie Group, I undertook research in organic chemistry at UQ’s School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience. During this time I designed and executed the first asymmetric total synthesis of the natural product EBC-329. I have also solved x-ray structures for multiple peer-reviewed publications.
Current Research:
I am designing and synthesising small molecules that modulate the activity of a G-protein coupled receptor.
